Diario Adolescente, in partnership with JovenSalud, will host a national congress in Costa Rica bringing together 1,000 young people who have experienced or are currently experiencing bullying. The goal: to strengthen emotional well-being, self-esteem, and support networks. The initiative aims to create safe spaces where adolescents feel heard, supported, and empowered to ask for help and become agents of change within their school communities.

Over the past year, Diario Adolescente directly reached nearly 6,000 young people across the country through educational outreach, awareness campaigns, and activities focused on mental health and bullying prevention.

The project projects reaching 7,000 students in 2026, with a particular focus on rural and coastal areas.

According to the PISA 2022 report, Costa Rica ranks among the countries with the highest rates of reported school bullying in Latin America, with 44% of students saying they have experienced harassment. In response, JovenSalud will offer free emotional support tools, strategies, and resources during the congress for young people ages 10 to 24, promoting healthy decision-making and overall well-being.
