ACD Guatemala at the 2025 Hola América Festival: Social Innovation and Hope in Motion

December 16, 2025

ACD, Guatemala

ACD Guatemala had the honor of participating in the 2025 Hola América Festival, a regional platform led by Ashoka that brought together more than 100 organizations, donors, social entrepreneurs, and impact networks from over 15 countries across Latin America.

The gathering focused on exploring innovative solutions to the challenges faced by migrants and returnees, promoting strategies for social integration across deeply diverse contexts.

For ACD Guatemala, the experience was truly transformative. Rooted in the highland communities of Quetzaltenango, the team shared methodologies centered on community-driven social innovationlocally grounded entrepreneurship with cultural relevance, and strengthening transnational family networks.

These approaches have been key to supporting communities affected by forced migration, sudden return, and dependence on remittances—creating sustainable alternatives so that migration stops being an obligation and becomes a free and informed choice.

Throughout the festival, meaningful spaces for collective learning, exchange of good practices, and partnership-building were created. It was a valuable opportunity to connect with key regional actors, identify synergies with other Latin American experiences, and inspire one another.

The event also enabled ACD Guatemala to engage with the region’s migration context through a broader lens—recognizing shared patterns and common challenges across the continent.

The Hola América Festival was more than a showcase of innovation: it was a call to action, a celebration of migrant resilience, and a powerful reminder that a different future is possible when we move forward together.
