FUNDAHMER – El Salvador
Driven by its commitment to the comprehensive development of young people, our partner FUNDAHMER continues to strengthen its scholarship program, which in 2026 supports approximately 150 young people from 3 departments across the country. As part of this effort, workshops focused on socio-emotional skill development have been implemented, recognizing that mental health and emotional well-being are essential to personal and professional growth.

The impact shows up in the stories of participants. Adriana Beatriz Herrera, 15, is a first-year high school student who loves soccer and dreams of studying Veterinary Medicine. She says the scholarship program and workshops have helped her come out of her shell, build stronger relationships, and face each new stage of life with more confidence — despite the transportation challenges she faces every day.
Alicia Beatriz Flores, 20, is in her fourth year of Legal Sciences and faces commutes of up to three hours to the university due to traffic — a significant physical and mental burden. Even so, her short-term goals include improving her GPA, completing an internship, and finishing her community service. She says the program has made a meaningful difference in helping her keep moving forward.
Sofía Michelle Morales Pérez, a second-year high school student, dreams of graduating and studying Psychology to support children who need guidance. Stories like those of Adriana, Alicia, and Sofía illustrate how the scholarship program creates spaces for listening, companionship, and growth — strengthening not only academic skills but also the emotional well-being of young people.
