Muchas Más – El Salvador
On July 9 two young women walked across a stage to receive their diplomas — and in doing so, proved that the path they chose, one that statistics, stereotypes, and lack of opportunity often make seem impossible, can in fact be walked. Bessy graduated as a Technician in Industrial Engineering. Gabriela, as a Technician in Software Development. Both are scholarship recipients of our partner Muchas Más’ STEM Scholarship Program.

Behind that moment is much more than a diploma. There are years of effort, of balancing studies with other responsibilities, of staying the course when the road got hard. There is the support of their families and the accompaniment of an organization that believed in them before they were fully convinced themselves.
And there is a network of allies that makes it possible for more young women to access spaces where they have historically been underrepresented.
The results are already being felt. Gabriela works today in the technology sector, putting into practice what she learned in a field she is passionate about.
Bessy is advancing in her job search process, building her profile on the solid foundation of quality technical training. Their stories are not just personal achievements: they are proof that when a woman advances in STEM, she opens the way for others to picture themselves in that place — and dare to get there.
