Asociación Amigos del Aprendizaje – ADA, Costa Rica
Amigos del Aprendizaje (ADA) proudly celebrated its 25th anniversary, reaffirming its commitment to improving learning opportunities for children across Costa Rica. During the celebration, ADA presented its 2024 Impact Report, highlighting achievements made possible through close collaboration with teachers, families, allies, and the broader education community.

Since its founding in 2000, ADA has pursued a clear mission: to inspire children to read and write with purpose, fostering continuous learning, social mobility, and breaking cycles of poverty.
Over the years, ADA has developed innovative, scalable models that have driven tangible change in classrooms nationwide.
Its flagship program, Mi Cuento Fantástico, has reached more than 179,000 students and 8,400 teachers over 14 editions, sparking creativity and a lifelong love of reading.
According to the 2024 Impact Report, based on research by CCK, the program strengthens self-confidence, creativity, and personal growth, proving to be a powerful educational tool for transformation.
“Celebrating 25 years is about recognizing that education has the power to change lives,” shared Renata Villers, ADA’s founder and executive director. “Through programs like Mi Cuento Fantástico, we’ve seen children overcome fears, discover their talents, and imagine brighter futures. This milestone reaffirms our promise to keep working with teachers, families, partners, and society to ensure every child in Costa Rica can learn, express themselves, and thrive.”
