October 22, 2025

New Sun Road, Guatemala

New Sun Road reaffirms its commitment to advancing equitable access to clean energy and digital connectivity in rural communities across Guatemala. As part of the Rural Electrification Coalition, convened by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM), the organization joined forces with public institutions and civil society to pursue a shared goal: achieving universal, sustainable, and fair access to electricity throughout the country.

This alliance demonstrates that it is possible to close energy gaps through locally driven, sustainable solutions, with a strong emphasis on empowering Indigenous women. Through its Community Digital Centers (CDCs) model, New Sun Road continues to show that rural electrification can be a powerful tool to promote integral development, improve quality of life, and strengthen the autonomy of even the most remote communities.
