Education Without Borders: 58 Youth from Herencia Viva Graduate from the “Joven Salud” Program

Barry Segal’s vision of the transformative power of strategic partnerships continues to deliver results. In November, 58 young people from southwestern Guatemala successfully graduated from the “Joven Salud” program, implemented by Teen Smart of Costa Rica—an achievement that marks a turning point in their lives.

This graduation is the direct result of the partnership formed in May 2025 between Fundación Herencia Viva and Teen Smart, two organizations that share the belief that technology and virtual education can create pathways where barriers once existed.

The power of synergy

The program’s success lies in the strong complementarity between both organizations. By combining experience, vision, and digital tools, they overcame geographic boundaries and delivered holistic education in health and well-being to young people facing significant challenges in their communities.
