FUNDAHMER, El Salvador

From March 21 to 26, San Salvador hosted the International Gathering of Christian and Solidarity Organizations, organized by the International Christian Service of Solidarity (SICSAL) and hosted by our partner organization, FUNDAHMER.

Held in honor of the 45th anniversary of the martyrdom of Monsignor Óscar Arnulfo Romero, the gathering brought together 50 participants from 12 countries across North, Central, and South America, as well as from Spain and Australia.

Using the “see, judge, act” methodology, attendees reflected on current social, political, and religious challenges, shared experiences, and worked on local and regional solutions.

The event served as a key space for dialogue, connection, and inspiration among community leaders committed to social justice. It emphasized solidarity with causes such as human rights, protection of our “Common Home,” and resistance to extractive mining.

As part of the program, participants visited the community of Santa Marta and engaged in religious and cultural activities honoring Mons. Romero.
