“Kitchen Hub: A Space to Transform Ingredients… and Lives”

August 6, 2025

ACD Guatemala

The ACD kitchen is much more than a place to prepare food: it is a safe, empowering, and transformative space where women in vulnerable situations learn to build new opportunities for their lives.

Through hands-on classes, participants learn simple, nutritious, and low-cost recipes designed to be replicated at home and become an immediate source of income through sales in their communities.

But the Kitchen Hub goes beyond cooking: it offers training in recipe costing, product presentation, income management, and good hygiene practices, promoting entrepreneurship and financial independence as key tools for breaking cycles of economic violence and dependency.

In this space, women not only learn to cook, but also discover their own resilience, strengthen their self-confidence, and build support networks with others who share their dreams. Over the past year, more than 35 women have benefited from this program, transforming not only their kitchens, but also their life plans.

Because when a woman cooks with purpose, she feeds much more than a home: she feeds hope, freedom, and the future.
