Amigos del Aprendizaje – ADA, Costa rica
The Asociación Amigos del Aprendizaje (ADA), together with the Ministry of Public Education (MEP), launched the XIV edition of the National Writing Contest “My Fantastic Story”, under the slogan: “A classroom that plays, wins! This initiative seeks to strengthen writing, reading and critical thinking skills in girls and boys from third to sixth grade throughout the country.
Since its creation in 2012, the contest has had the participation of more than 167 thousand students from 1,764 schools, thanks to the accompaniment of more than 8 thousand teachers and 1,121 librarians, consolidating itself as a key educational tool that gives life to the official Spanish curriculum of the MEP.
Awards and categories 2025
A jury will select:
– 12 national winning stories (1st, 2nd and 3rd place per educational level).
– 27 regional winners (one per MEP regional directorate).
– Prizes for single-teacher schools with the highest participation.
– The “Community Award” to the three most voted stories in social networks.
– 27 awards for “Fantastic Classrooms”.
This year, four special categories will also be recognized and a new Perseverance Award will be presented to teachers and librarians who have participated continuously between 2022 and 2025.
The “My Fantastic Story” contest continues to be an engine for transforming classrooms into creative spaces, where every child can discover the power of his or her voice and the magic of imagining a better world.
