The Women’s Rights Initiative Expands to New Regions of Guatemala

The Women’s Rights Initiative (WRI) has expanded its reach by launching a new Organizational Strengthening Program on the Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence, aimed at community organizations in the Verapaces region.

The gathering brought together 40 representatives from various groups eager to learn about WRI’s comprehensive care model for survivors of violence.

Tools and experiences were shared to promote dignity and support for women through a community-centered, intercultural, and rights-based approach.

For WRI, prevention is essential to the well-being of women and girls. These spaces foster collaborative networks that strengthen grassroots efforts. With this new step, WRI reaffirms its commitment to building safe, violence-free environments where all women can fully exercise their rights.
