Tierra Nueva – Guatemala

In western Guatemala, ensuring the right of girls and adolescents to full development requires more than good intentions — it requires coordinated action, training, and spaces where young women can become protagonists of their own care and that of their communities. That is what Tierra Nueva ONG carries out.

One of the most significant milestones of this process was the graduation of 15 adolescent women leaders who completed their training in the prevention of pregnancy in girls and adolescents. The event was not just a celebration — it was also a space for dialogue between the young women, their families, the facilitation team, and representatives from Tierra Nueva and the Ministry of Education.

Today, these young women are prepared to replicate the workshops and multiply knowledge among their peers.

In parallel, participatory workshops were held in public educational centers in the municipalities with the highest rates in the region, involving more than 400 young people.

The sessions focused on early detection of violence, promotion of equity, and strengthening life projects. Because at Tierra Nueva, they know that prevention is built from the voices, mutual care, and agency of young people themselves.
