In the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca, where social risks often outweigh opportunities, Fundación Nuestra Señora del Camino advances the Casa de la Juventud Program as a key strategy for protection and community development.

Throughout 2025, the program strengthened educational and socio-emotional processes for adolescents, youth, and teachers in the districts of San Félix, Müna, Nole Duima, and Mironó. Designed in response to local realities, it addresses challenges such as school dropout, teenage pregnancy, violence, and lack of vocational guidance through content focused on self-esteem, life planning, risk prevention, social skills, and youth leadership.

More than 3,000 young people participated in workshops held in educational centers, with evaluations reflecting strong comprehension and appreciation of the content.

Beyond the numbers, the impact is evident in the trust built: young people finding safe spaces to express themselves, reflect, and strengthen their decision-making skills.

The program also included training for teachers on topics such as mental well-being, leadership, and teamwork, recognizing that their well-being is essential to sustaining protective educational processes.

Despite budget constraints and logistical challenges, the program remained active throughout the year, reaffirming the high demand and the need to continue investing in youth development as a long-term strategy for social prevention and sustainable development.
